Syncing a controller to trigger a motif rack/reason (to pro-tools)

i have: akai mpk49 controller,motif rack,reason 4 ,protools le. i wanted to get midi cables but the dude at guitar center recommended this m-audio midisport uno(usb to midi interface). it has a to midi in and a to midi out plug and a usb to computer plug. my question is have i hooked it up right or not and how can i sync my hardware together with the software.

i midi into my akai controller,,midi out to the midi thru on motif rack. then what. audio into the mbox im sure but how

also protools and reason not recognizing eachother . i think i will re-install both because they were recognizing eachother until i installed xpand. can somebody help me.

I don't know much about pro tools cuz I use logic, but I also have a mpk and reason 4. I don't think you need the midisport. Both the mpk and the motif rack have usb midi intrfaces, just install the drivers for them, which should be on the discs that came with them. Just plug them into your computer and the computer should read them as a midi device. Go midi out from the motif to midi in of the mpk. that should play the motif sounds, with the audio plugged into the Mbox of course.

About pro tools not reconizing reason I would need some more info on that. What do you mean not reconizing, what are you trying yo do?
